About Low Alloy Steels

The solid copper-coated wire for GTAW, F 80S-D2, comes in a bright finish. The wire produces a steady arc, produces smooth welds, and deposits welds of radiographic quality. It is advised for welding high-strength, fine-grained structural steels that contain molybdenum (0.5%). In situations when a high tensile strength property is required from the weld metal, such as when welding penstock pipe-line or fabricating earthmoving equipment, the wire is also appropriate. SA-455/SA-455M, SA-515/SA-515M, SA-516/SA-516M, Class 1 of A, B, C, and D grades of SA-533/SA-533M, and other ASTM steels can be welded using this type of steel.

CURRENT AND PACKING DATA:

STANDARD SIZE : Diameter 1.6 mm, 2.0 mm, 2.4 mm & 3.2 mm in cut lengths of 500 mm / 1000 mm each.
QUANTITY : 5 kg wire put in an air-tight polythene bag and finally packed in a plastic container. Identification AWS code is punched on each wire.
